Biography
Oskar Kilgus is a research assistant working on his master’s thesis at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Germany, and Harvard Medical School. During his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, he specialized in medical technology in order to pursue a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. In 2023/2024, during an Erasmus stay at Linköping University in Sweden, Oskar participated in a multidisciplinary project to develop and design a laser speckle contrast imaging system used to evaluate burn wounds. Through guest lectures by companies like Philips and Weinmann at the TUHH, his interest in the application of engineering sciences in the field of medicine has continued to grow. In addition to numerous tutoring jobs, internships, and a working student position, his Master’s thesis at the Harvard AI and Robotics Lab completes Oskar’s basic academic training for the time being. His work at the Harvard AI and Robotics Lab focuses on combining different modalities to predict glaucoma progression.
